Google’s New Chromecast, “Chromecast 2.0“, had the FCC Application Pass through on 10/1/2014. Some further details of the device just came through today.
It appears from the RF Exposure report that the device is compatible with both the 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz wireless bandwidths. This will bring us a much higher bandwidth, raising the potential peak throughput to 1 Gbps, plenty of bandwidth to potentially support 4K video.
Per standard, the Chromecast will come with both the WiFi casting device as well as an external power adapter ( Still P/N MST3K-US S/N S004ABU0510085 ) as well as the adapter cables to connect the chromecast’s micro-usb port.
More details to follow as they become available!
